Westfield Stratford City was originally completed in September 2011 and provides approximately 1.9 million square feet of retail and leisure space for community enjoyment. The master plan for the site includes significant office, hotel and residential space; much of which have been developed in subsequent years.

With over 300 retailers and space for 5,000 cars, Westfield Stratford City was part of one of the largest urban regeneration projects in the UK.

Since the original project, NDY has continued to support Westfield Stratford City with many amendments, adaptations and refinements to the centre, including the Olympic overlay works in 2012. We continue to manage tenant fitout projects on behalf of Westfield Stratford City, with notable examples such as Gymbox. In this project, NDY was responsible for shell services and EPC.

The project’s features and innovations include:

  • Connection to a local trigeneration energy centre delivering heating and cooling infrastructure
  • Integrated communication infrastructure including the BMS, site management system, security, radio and audio visual systems
  • The project achieved an ‘Excellent’ rating under the BREEAM Environmental Retail assessment method
  • Review of HVAC control regime/functionality to assist in improved operational efficiency.
