The Project Engineer (Senior) – Security or Communications/ICT and Security Engineer will work predominately in communications/ICT, security and Audio Visual projects. Activities include the client consultation, design, specification, contract administration and commissioning of ICT and Security systems with normal duties to include:
- Undertaking site investigations and client consultations to determine design requirements
- Liaison with telecommunications carriers and facilitation of such works from initiation to completion
- Client briefing, design and documentation of communications/ICT and security systems including:
- Structured cabling systems and active network equipment
- IPTV, Public Address and Audio-Visual Systems
- Electronic access control systems and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV)
- Security alarm systems up to Type 1A and intercom systems
- Strategic security planning and CPTED
- Actively engaging with external clients and identifying opportunities for business development
- Attending design meetings with clients, architects, other discipline engineers
- Internal coordination meetings with mechanical, electrical, fire and hydraulics engineers
- Working closely with our drafting team in the documentation of projects
- Condition auditing of existing buildings
Training and development in these roles will be provided to the right applicant. Interstate travel may be required and overseas assignments are possible in the longer term.
About You
Skills & Experience:
We are looking for a person with the following attributes:
- Degree in engineering, preferably electronics, electrical, computers or communications, with over 5 years’ experience;
- Self starter/highly motivated person looking for opportunities to participate in client facing roles as well as working within a team environment
- Excellent presentation, verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent report writing and analytical skills;
- Willingness to travel with possible short-term interstate travel required
- Driver’s license as you may be required to travel to site as part of your role
- Holding or eligibility to hold QLD Security License and/or Australian Government Security Clearance are highly desirable
- Experience in security and or communication systems hardware would be an advantage but is not essential.
