The Position

  • We are looking for a Hydraulic Engineer to join our growing team in Perth
  • Competent at designing and documenting systems through concept, design development and detailed documentation phases
  • Provide hydraulic design expertise on single and multi-disciplinary projects
  • Assist Project Leader responsible for the firm’s overall involvement on the project and the administration of design interface between disciplines. Disciplines may include Communications, Security, Lifts, Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, Hydraulics, NDY Light, ESD, Fire Engineering and Acoustics
  • Review technical submissions by Contractors and Sub-Contractors and the quality of construction against the specified requirements
  • Identify and engage clients and key stakeholders, ensuring that expectations are known, managed, and fulfilled, within program and project constraints. Liaise with Contractors and Sub-Contractors to address construction
  • Ensure clients’ requirements, deliverables and level of documentation is clearly defined with sufficient pre-notification.


Ideally you will have:

  • Minimum 3 years engineering experience across the full project lifecycle and responsibility for delivering projects
  • Experience working within the building services sector utilising Australian building codes and standards
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information of a complex nature both verbally and in writing with all stakeholders across multiple disciplines including colleagues and clients
  • Ability to exercise well-developed problem-solving skills and use substantial initiative and judgement to work independently to meet objectives
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills.

You offer:

You will use your experience and technical ability to manage delivery of hydraulic designs within single and multi-discipline projects. Complete engineering analysis and design of Hydraulic Systems as well as liaise with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders. You will apply the latest technologies to our ever-expanding workload of building services. You will verify design work carried out in the business and provide mentoring, coaching, and training to less experienced engineers and project co-ordinators.

As a confident communicator who is articulate and confident in developing new and existing relationships, you will be working with like-minded individuals who are flexible in their approach to challenges, motivated and share the ability to think laterally in delivering smart technical solutions to our clients.

Training and Development

NDY has a strong focus on the development of our staff and training will be a key element of this development whether on internal or external training courses. Additionally, the successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of projects from healthcare facilities through to commercial office developments and retail developments, both as new build and refurbishments.
