Barangaroo South wins Property Council of Australia’s RLB NSW Development of the Year
Lendlease was presented with the award at the Property Council of Australia’s NSW awards night on Wednesday, April 18.
Barangaroo South is a rare a project. The size and significance of Barangaroo mark it as one of the most prominent projects on the Australian construction landscape. The mixed waterfront development, nestled in the CBD on Sydney Harbour, brings together a new public headland park and a flourishing community, residential and commercial precinct covering a vacant 22 hectare industrial site.
As the developer as well as the design and construct project manager, Lendlease had sustainability and energy efficiency as key objectives on the project. Barangaroo South had a 6 star Green Star Office Design and As Built (v3) and NABERS 5 star plus ratings target as a minimum.
NDY contributed to the project as the Lead Services Consultant for International Towers Sydney with specific design responsibility for Mechanical Services, Electrical Services, Security Services, Communications Services, Building Management and Control Systems Services and the Building Information Model (BIM).
The NSW Development of the Year Award is part of the national 2018 Property Council of Australia / Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards program.
Barangaroo South is also competing in two categories at the national awards, which will be held in Sydney on Friday 11 May.
