Paul Bradbury – Canberra

Recently taking on the role of Canberra Office Director, Paul has extensive design experience in all types of Mechanical Services Systems ranging from displacement ventilation systems, low temperature VAVs to active chilled beam design. He has also been involved in the mechanical design of a number of projects that are required to meet a high acoustic and environmental performance.

Ben Castle – London

Ben is responsible for the design, documentation and construction administration of public health services and has worked for NDY for over a decade.

He has led hydraulic services design teams on three $1 billion healthcare projects, including the award winning $630 million Bendigo Hospital project.

Ben was a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Hydraulic Services Consultants Australia (Victoria) from 2014 to 2018.

“I’m honoured to be appointed to Director. Having started as a graduate engineer some years ago, I’ve been fortunate to work on many varied and exciting projects across multiple offices, beginning in Melbourne and now in London. Thank you to all those who have supported me along the way and acted as mentors. I look forward to working with the NDY team on new challenges.”

Associate Director

Stephen Hogg – Auckland

Stephen began his career over 40 years ago in the UK as an engineer apprentice in ship building and repair, going on to gain an honours degree and becoming chartered. He transferred his skills into building services over 30 years ago, and now has extensive experience in the design, documentation and investigation of mechanical and hydraulic services for data centres, commercial buildings, hospitals, airports, universities, research laboratories, schools and residential developments.

 “It is pleasing to receive this recognition of my part within NDY’s success. I look forward to continuing with my contributions, in resolving a variety of technical challenges that are presented to the team.”

Nicki Parker – Brisbane

Nicki is NDY’s Building Sciences Leader and a senior leader within the wider Global Sustainability Group. She is also a highly respected industry leader in climate resilient design. With over 14 years in Building Physics and Sustainability consulting, Nicki’s in-depth knowledge of applying complex principles to practical sustainable design provides value to clients and promotes repeat business.

“I am truly grateful to receive a nomination to Associate Director. I feel privileged to work for a company that continually recognises the performance of their employees, and look forward to continuing my career with a team that inspires me to go over and above, challenging the norm in terms of best practice sustainable buildings.”

Ben Martin –  London

Ben joined the NDY team in 2012, starting in Brisbane and relocating to the London office in 2014. He is the leader of the commercial office sector in the London office and works with his team to ensure client expectation is the most important element of any design.

Ben’s UK experience has been centered on delivery of Cat A refurbishment and CAT B fitout projects. His experience in fitout of existing and live buildings is an asset to the team and each project.

Senior Associate 

Omar Iqbal – ECS Melbourne

Omar has worked as a building services engineer in the industry since 2003. Experience gained over the years through a multitude of projects has cemented his technical expertise, gained from delivering world-renowned projects both overseas and locally.

Since joining ECS in 2011, he has been a key Project Leader delivering multimillion-dollar projects for ECS involving various trades and services.

“I am pleased to be recognised for my efforts and very thankful to the ECS management for their support and guidance over the years. This recognition is very special as it coincides with both my 10 years of service and ECS’s 10th year anniversary.” 

Andrea Lawrie – Corporate

Andrea has been with NDY for almost 15 years. She is the Executive Assistant to the Australian Regional Director as well as managing NDY Branding and marketing collateral.

She is well known throughout the company for her ability to develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders; and possesses a high level of leadership.

Magdalini Makrodimitri – London

Magdalini has extensive experience in the environmentally sustainable design of high-profile projects within the UK and abroad. She is qualified with a PhD in Sustainability in the Built Environment and has previously completed an MSc in Environmental Design and Engineering.

Magdalini is a Chartered Engineer and a full Chartered Member of both CIBSE and RIBA. Additionally, she is a WELL AP, BREEAM AP, LEED AP, Registered Low Carbon Consultant and level 5 LCEA.

“From the moment I started working at NDY I have been driven to achieve both personal and professional growth, and I am indebted to my team and directors, those who have contributed to this appointment. From the very beginning, I had hoped I could use my skills to add value. I am so glad that you have seen potential in me and thank you for all you have done to help me get to where I am today. I am extremely excited.”

Henri Smith – London

Henri is a mechanical engineer specialising in mission critical and life sciences projects. He typically acts as project leader, providing a single point of contact with client teams whilst leading and co-ordinating NDY’s multi-disciplinary appointment. He is also the Mission Critical Team leader responsible for the internal management of the NDY team.

Warrick Brown – Perth

Warrick is a Senior Mechanical Engineer, with a diverse range of experience. After spending 8 years working for a Perth consultancy, he then moved to a contractor to broaden his practical knowledge. In 2016 he left Perth to live in Vietnam and work on a range of large international projects, and now finds himself back in Perth at NDY. His strength in technical design, advanced understanding of digital delivery mechanisms and coordination passion make him a strong part of the NDY buildings team.

“2020 was a challenging year for all of us and sometimes it’s easy to lose focus of the positive things that happened. We were very fortunate to maintain and consolidate the talented Perth buildings team, whilst working on some excellent projects. Being appointed to Senior Associate is as much a recognition of the hard work of the people around me as it is recognition of my own contributions. I am looking forward to a great year in 2021 and conquering the next challenges that come our way.”

David Farrell – Perth

David is a Senior Electrical Engineer with over a decade of experience in the building services industry.

He originally started his career in Dublin, Ireland, working on several major projects before moving to Perth to join NDY.

David manages projects internally within NDY and oversees the day-to day-operation and coordination for his projects. David ensures project quality plans are implemented and that all team members perform their functions in a timely, controlled and quality assured manner.

“I’m very grateful for this appointment. It is reflective of the great support provided by my colleagues and peers who work to deliver so many of our projects. I look forward to the next chapter of my career with NDY.”

William McCulloch – Vancouver

Since joining NDY in 2011, William has developed within the organisation and worked for NDY across multiple offices (Wellington, Sydney and Vancouver). During this time he has carried out a variety of complex projects as Project Manager and as Lead Mechanical Engineer across a range of market sectors and across all project stages. William is a Senior Associate and is the Existing Buildings Lead for NDY Vancouver.

Terry Kim – Vancouver

Terry joined NDY in 2016 and leads the engineering and operation in the Vancouver office. He is the chair of the technical excellence committee and provides technical training sessions and mentorship for Vancouver team members.

Terry has a wide range of mechanical system design experience and knowledge in the residential, educational, recreational, light industrial and commercial buildings sectors. He has always worked with honesty and integrity to protect public interest as well as following codes and standards.

“I’m honoured to receive this appointment, and I appreciate all support and opportunities that I’ve had at NDY. It’s been a pleasure to work on many projects and to work with great colleagues in the Vancouver office as well as other international offices. I look forward to having more great experiences in my journey with NDY.”

Hayley Koerbin – Wellington

Hayley leads the NZ division of NDY’s Global Sustainability Group, a team of highly skilled and diverse consultants driving sustainability solutions across the built environment.

Highly passionate and sought after for her expertise in Green Star and the WELL Building Standard, Hayley’s knowledge covers sustainable building design, analysis of building environmental quality, sustainability rating tools and occupant health and wellbeing. Hayley is motivated and strong in sharing knowledge, listening and delivering exceptional results for her clients.

“I appreciate this recognition of my efforts at NDY to date. I would like to thank NDY for the opportunities I’ve been afforded, both in New Zealand and the Global Sustainability Group, and in particular Mark McKenna for his leadership, integrity, and dedication to diversity within the sustainability team. Associate 

David Bintliff – Auckland

David is a highly experienced, multi-disciplinary team leader with extensive client, managerial and commercial experience. He has comprehensive experience in electrical and mechanical design, coordination and management within an engineering office, as well as extensive knowledge of site commissioning, main contractor, FM and Client operational requirements.

“The past year has been an extremely challenging one within the healthcare team and I am grateful that NDY has provided me with an opportunity to work within a diverse group of skilled and enthusiastic individuals. I look forward to my journey ahead with the growing support of the Tetra Tech team.”

Andrew Phoenix – Brisbane

Andrew has developed a strong knowledge base across a wide range of highly diverse projects in multiple building sectors including industrial facilities, transport and aviation, sporting venues, healthcare, education facilities, retail, offices and hotels. He also has a keen interest in renewable energy projects and has successfully integrated renewable energy designs into a number of office and industrial facilities.

Greg Garrad – Brisbane

Greg is a Senior Electrical Engineer at NDY and has significant experience across a number of market sectors including Sports, Retail, Commercial Offices, Defence, Interiors/Fitout and Entertainment. Greg currently leads the Civic market sector in the Brisbane office.

In his current role, Greg is responsible for the design, documentation and subsequent quality inspections of electrical systems, inclusive of power, lighting and communications systems. He prides himself on delivering innovative and quality solutions that meet and exceed both industry best practice standard and the client’s expectations. He is a keen adopter of 3D/BIM modelling software and employs this to deliver highly coordinated solutions that assist with delivering a smooth construction phase.

Andrew O’Brien – Canberra

With a background in Mechanical Engineering, Andrew has a wide range of experience across project sectors, from small retail fitout projects to large commercial base building towers. Other areas of experience include commercial office fitouts, laboratories, health care and residential.

“I’m very thankful for the opportunities and recognition I’ve been given throughout my time at NDY. I’ve had the pleasure of working in both the Perth and Canberra offices with many talented staff to collaborate with and learn from.” 

 

Ricky Ng – Hong Kong

Ricky has over 17 years’ experience in the building services industry and has worked in a major building services consultancy in Hong Kong.

He has extensive design experience across sectors, including data centres, office buildings, mixed-use development, residential, institutional and hotels. Ricky is responsible for electrical services design, coordination with other building services, incorporation of client requirements, production of design output documents and project coordination/management.

“I am very grateful for this appointment and recognition. My time at NDY has been rewarding with brilliant, talented colleagues in the Hong Kong Office. Looking forward to more exciting challenges and delivering more successful projects as an Associate in the near future.” 

 

Desiree Alcedo – Melbourne

Desiree joined NDY as a Project Administrator in 2016. She is responsible for leading, managing and motivating a high performing team (comprising of onshore and offshore resources), and has progressed into the Project Administrator Team Leader role.

Desiree also manages the Melbourne office’s Safety, Health, Environment and Quality compliance requirements. This is an active role in ensuring a safe and productive work environment is upheld within the workplace, by maintaining a high standard of performance in accordance with the company’s values, code of conduct, policies, procedures and business directives.

Alessandra Cesarini – Melbourne

Alessandra is a building engineer and architect, with international experience in building services design and construction.

Being both an engineer and an architect, her key strengths are her capability in providing an extremely high level of coordination with architects thereby improving project outcomes; and an integrated and multidisciplinary approach to the design, always considering architectural, structural and economical aspects.

“It has been a pleasure to learn and grow in the NDY family. My career has progressed so much since I started working with NDY more than 5 years ago. Thank you very much for the support received and also for recognising my hard work and accomplishments with this promotion. I look forward to continuing to work and succeed together.”

Roy Kidd – Melbourne

Roy is an experienced mechanical engineer and widely regarded as a conscientious, efficient and quick working team member by clients. Working as the Interiors Sector Team Leader, he is responsible for management of the Interiors Team in the Melbourne office, which includes development of team strategies, team resourcing, employee engagement and development.

I consider myself very lucky to work with an incredible team who have helped my personal and professional development, and I feel this appointment is recognition of that. Jacquie Smith – Sydney

Jacquie is responsible for proposal preparation, diary management, expense recording, minute taking and project maintenance. Since joining NDY two years ago, her role has developed and diversified, enabling more responsibility and ownership in assisting with the financial performance of projects and outcomes and involvement with project leaders.

“I was very surprised to receive this appointment and honoured as well.  I’m aware that these are not handed out lightly, so I’m proud to be recognised for this achievement in my career. My time with NDY has been a pleasure to date working with a great team of people, who value the contribution and dedication of their staff. I hope my appointment inspires more Project Administrators to continue to seek growth in their role to reach their career goals.”

Brooke Scanlan – Sydney

Brooke has been with NDY for five years, beginning as a Personal Assistant, and is now the Sustainability Coordinator for the Global Sustainability Group. She provides support to enable the highly efficient operation of the team including project finances, resourcing and delivering high quality proposals and marketing material.

John Murphy – Vancouver

John has extensive experience in the design, documentation, commissioning, and management of mechanical services for various market sectors including commercial, retail, residential and mixed-use buildings.

He has a strong drive for continued professional development and regularly attends industry meetings, seminars, conferences and training courses. This enables him to remain at the leading edge of the mechanical and construction industry. This drive translates in the workplace to the delivery of high-quality projects, exceeding the requirements and expectations set by NDY’s clients.

Lee White – Sydney

Lee is a Commissioning Manager who has been involved in a range of projects from design, construction management and commissioning, where he has obtained both theoretical and practical experience.

Throughout his career, Lee been involved in the data centres, commercial office fitouts, entertainment, education, residential and sports sectors. These range from both small to large scale greenfield and refurbishment projects.
