NDY pedal power – supporting people with MS
A team of NDY riders are using pedal power to raise money for the invaluable work of MS Australia in the 2011 Gong Ride on Sunday 6 November 2011.
Rising early most mornings to train, the NDY team are gearing up to conquer the 90km course from Sydney to Wollongong for the second year running. Team members will fly from Perth, the USA and Melbourne to join the race – all in the name of a very good cause.
MS is the most common disease of the central nervous system and affects more than 20,000 Australians. MS Australia aims to minimise the impact of multiple sclerosis on all individuals affected by the disease, as well as their families, carers and the community, by offering a wide range of services, equipment and support. MS Australia’s goal is to assist everyone affected by MS to live life to their fullest potential and secure the care and support they need, until we ultimately find a cure.
Did you know?
* The average age of diagnosis of MS is just 30 years.
* MS affects three times as many women as men.
How can you help?
Setting the benchmark high, the NDY team last year raised $12,000 and this year aim to raise at least $10,000. The team would greatly appreciate all contributions, small and large.
