Channel 7 Broadcast CentreMelbourne, Australia
After 40 years of operating from its South Melbourne home, Channel 7 transferred its broadcast facilities to a new building in Melbourne’s Docklands.
Their new five storey building houses state-of-the-art equipment and is capable of handling the new era of digital, high definition and wide screen television broadcasts.
NDY provided mechanical services, including redundant air handling and a chiller plant for all on-air critical facilities.
Electrical services included 100% standby power generation for the complete building, UPS and redundant cable paths for broadcast equipment, surge diversion and lightning protection.
We set up smoke detection and gas suppression to critical technical spaces, sprinkler fire protection to the building generally, pre-action sprinklers to control rooms.
Our security protection services included physical separation of ‘talent’ from the public and comprehensive closed circuit television monitoring throughout the building and communications including PABX, backbone and facility cables, A/V and MATV cabling systems.
