Energy Australia’s new Two Melbourne Quarter (2MQ) headquarters comprises 21,000 m² of A grade commercial office space, residing within the Melbourne Quarter precinct development by Lendlease. The project consolidates Energy Australia from multiple existing CBD offices into one tenancy, as a result driving organisational change through their workforce.

Delivered as a fully integrated fitout on the top 10 floors of the 2MQ tower, NDY provided building services and specialist discipline consulting on the project. The space brings a frictionless experience for Energy Australia staff and visitors, from landlord entry points to the building, end-of-trip and staff locker facilities.

By providing vertical connectivity through the 10 level workspace, we have helped Energy Australia provide a connection and heightened opportunity for collaboration and engagement within their team that was not possible whilst they were working across multiple sites.

The result brings to life a visually striking, yet purposeful design with architectural lighting as an important design feature; for example, lighting ribbons accentuating the arrival experience complemented by neon signage.

NDY also worked with client stakeholders and the design team to integrate key health and wellness focused principles into the design. This included a rigorous review of all finishes and furniture to ensure toxic materials were avoided, resulting in high indoor air quality for occupants.

With a mix of encompassing seamless integration of technology, numerous work environments and sustainability principles underpinning the design, it is a workplace that the Energy Australia team will be proud to occupy for years to come.
