The Mare Street Studios site is a collection of buildings owned by Workspace that has been used for light industrial, studios and office purposes.
The project involves the demolition and construction of a new four storey extension at the rear, and the addition of a new storey on the rooftop of the existing main building.
Key fire engineering services were to develop a fire strategy document for the building and undertake a comparative study in order to assist the client in the decision making process relating to automatic fire detection and alarm installation for the building. The design provided a fire engineered solution to justify non-compliance issues identified regarding means of escape. Our team liaised with approval authorities and assisted the project team to obtain building control approval for the scheme.
