With the goal of increasing the tourism in the area, the new Port of Sale Cultural Hub development provides a bigger space for community engagement and activity alongside additional jobs and improved amenities.

NDY was engaged to design Audio Visual services for the three storey cultural hub comprised of four galleries, multi-purpose meeting rooms and Council chambers. The facility also includes a public library, function space, visitor information centre and a café.

The Council Chambers was the highlight of the project, with a flexible technology solution delivered to accommodate multiple functions within the space. In a workshop scenario, each Council member can access a high quality delegate-style microphone and local monitor for an enhanced collaboration experience. When conducting a meeting in the presence of the public and media, high quality audio and video throughout the Chambers in addition to live streaming and recording capabilities enable an easy transition for content to be presented as website material.

In guiding them through the process and helping to formulate workplace strategies whilst balancing budgetary goals, NDY helped the Council achieve their vision. With the building services design complementing the building’s architecture, NDY’s assisted in modernising facilities in the rural area by providing consistent enterprise-grade solutions with simple user interfaces and systems.

With this new state-of-the-art technology delivering a modern Council Customer Service experience for Sale, the way local communities and visitors engage with one another has been redefined and the building secured for long term future use.
