Michael is the Norman Disney & Young (NDY) New Zealand Regional Director.

Michael was instrumental in the growth and success of NDY’s acoustics team, and particularly the noise and vibration discipline’s growth in New Zealand. His expertise extends into all branches of acoustics and includes the architectural acoustics of buildings, the control of noise and vibration from environmental sources, mechanical and industrial plant, noise surveys and assessments, and the measurement of noise and vibration.

Michael has proven experience in establishing a client needs brief including where appropriate and feasible, objective criteria in respect of background noise levels, sound isolation requirements and spatial acoustic conditions (reverberant noise control) within various spaces. The ability to provide acoustical design approaches to be adopted to achieve agreed noise and vibration limitations and criteria.

Michael has been the Project Director of many prestigious development and refurbishment projects in New Zealand. Some of his notable hotel development projects are Westin Hotel (now Sofitel) and Stamford Residences in Auckland, where he was involved in the noise and vibration aspects of the project.
