The Position
In this full-time permanent position, the Mechanical Technical Lead is the subject matter expert for their chosen discipline. Formerly the role of the R&D Committee Chairperson, the Technical Lead provides thought leadership for the NDY Group in their field of engineering, with the incumbent responsible for driving technical excellence and management of NDY discipline related intellectual property.
- Overseeing design projects entails tasks such as defining scope, managing finances, scheduling, ensuring quality, and handling risks.
- Manage, or be part of delivering large scale procurement processes including preparation of technical specifications, tender evaluations, contract negotiations, etc.
- Support project implementation through a variety of roles that include detailed design, owner’s engineer, technical due diligence / lenders engineer and O&M phase support.
- Deeply understand our client’s most pressing challenges and exciting opportunities relating to the energy sector.
- Ask the right questions to frame a strategic approach to problem solving and value creation.
- Search for innovative ideas and concepts to further improve delivery processes for the business.
Who we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Strong experience in the design, installation, replacement, and upgrade of such systems.
- Medium to strong experience in BMS and control systems.
- Demonstrated experience across the full project lifecycle and responsibility for delivering projects.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information of a complex nature both verbally and in writing with all stakeholders across multiple disciplines including colleagues and clients.
- Well-developed understanding of relevant Standards and Building Codes for your region.
- Experience managing workload across multiple projects and dealing with multiple stakeholders.
Training and Development
NDY has a strong focus on the development of our staff and training will be a key element of this development whether on internal or external training courses. We will develop a career plan for each staff member that will focus on core elements of your role to provide you with a clear progression in your career path.
Additionally, the successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of projects from Healthcare facilities through to commercial office developments and retail developments, both as new build and refurbishments.
