The Position

We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our London Sustainability Team, a part of our Global Sustainability Group. You will report to the UK Sustainability Lead, supporting large projects and leading small to medium projects. You will also assist with business development and mentor junior members of the global group.

This role is perfect for someone passionate about sustainability and possessing strong technical skills, thriving on developing sustainability solutions and engaging with clients.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the sustainability component of projects, applying deep technical knowledge and skills on design and construction projects, including large/complex projects – as well as projects relating to organisational or portfolio-level sustainability/wellness. May act as a Project Leader responsible for project performance
  • Technical focus on whole of life carbon assessments and circular economy. Proactively identify, develop and promote ways to improve operating capability
  • Enhance client relationships, improve market standing, and secure new work via relationship building, networking, client presentations and submissions, and proactive early project involvement
  • Manage NDY’s project involvement to ensure efficient completion while meeting client needs
  • Identify and engage clients and key stakeholders, ensuring expectations are managed and fulfilled
  • Represent NDY in internal and external meetings to discuss client issues, proposals, new opportunities, and marketing strategies
  • Contribute to research and development initiatives in your technical area(s) of expertise
  • Coordinate and plan commitments, resources, and workload across available projects to meet deadlines and budgets efficiently. Monitor workload and advise the line manager/project lead on resource needs and utilization.

Who we’re looking for

  • Minimum 5 years relevant professional engineering/consulting experience across the full project lifecycle and responsibility for delivering projects.
  • Technical focus on whole of life carbon assessment and/or circular economy.
  • Desirable experience in BREEAM energy modelling, WELL and circular economy.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information of a complex nature both verbally and in writing with all stakeholders across multiple disciplines including colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to lead, manage and affect change and handle ambiguity.
  • Politically astute with team members and clients.
  • Ability to exercise well-developed problem-solving skills and use substantial initiative and judgement to work independently to meet objectives.

Training and Development

Additionally, the successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of projects from Healthcare facilities through to commercial office developments and retail developments, both as new build and refurbishments.
