David Norman’s greatest foresight as he established the firm was to surround himself with people who shared his commitment to excellence. David was able to encourage and support these individuals in a manner that provided them with the required ‘controlled freedom’ to grow the firm.

NDY has benefited greatly from David Norman’s contribution. He was one of the first engineers in Australia to actively promote sustainability and he developed several new ways of improving energy efficiency in buildings. Together with other directors, he instilled a strong culture of innovation and client-service. We continue to follow David’s legacy and retain the same vision: to be the best practitioner in our field.

Unlike many groups that grow by acquisition, NDY has preferred organic growth. This has benefited our culture and ensured that the business is well equipped to cope with fluctuations in economic conditions. It also allows us to provide employees with career experiences in multiple disciplines and geographic locations. Of our approximately 600 staff, many are long-term employees who have completed at least 10 years of service. These individuals have made a significant contribution to NDY’s growth and reputation during their tenure with the firm.
