Hiring women has never been about tokenism for us. It’s been about finding the right people for the right roles, and making sure the women who work for us have the support and encouragement to reach their full potential. To do that, we’ve got a whole range of great initiatives in place.
Our mentoring, leadership development and networking programs continue to provide fantastic opportunities for women in the business, such as the NDY Connecting Women network, Tetra-Tech’s Professional Women’s Network. We conduct regular pay equity reviews, to ensure that our female staff are being paid the same as their male co-workers for work of equal value.
We have also set tangible goals with respect to improving gender equality across a number of metrics including gender representation in leadership and technical positions and report on our progress each year to the Group Executive Team to keep ourselves accountable. In 2018, we also introduced a domestic and family violence policy.
NDY is committed to standing up and being accountable when it comes to gender equality in the workplace. As business leaders, we try to ensure that events we participate in (inclusive of panels and conferences) are gender balanced and have signed and encourage our staff to sign and demonstrate their commitment to the NDY Panel Pledge.
