NDY was appointed part of the Invensys Rail and John Holland team for the bid phase of this work package that involved the design and implementation of the signalling, train control, communications and ICT systems for the Regional Rail Link corridor.
NDY was appointed to undertake the design of all ICT systems for the upgraded and new stations, including CCTV cameras, interfacing to VicTrack and Department of Transport networks, ticketing and passenger information systems, communications interfaces and public address systems.
The Regional Rail Link project involved the upgrade of four existing metro stations and provision of two new regional stations.
This technically complex project required the uninterrupted operation of communications services in existing stations while new ICT systems were installed. NDY provided an innovative temporary solution to minimise duplicate works and ensure a competitive tender submission.
Our design also addressed all the end client requirements from reliable operation through to acoustic modelling of announcement systems to mitigate noise pollution from existing stations.
