The construction camp is for the duplication of the BHPBO railway system between the towns of Newman and Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The camp has 200 single storey accommodation and transportable modules. Each module has four rooms with an ensuite in each accommodation room, which can house 800 personnel.

To support the personnel the camp comprises: administration, dry mess, wet mess, laundries, toilet blocks, ice machines, gym, ambulance, EPCM buildings.

NDY was responsible for the lead hydraulic design, which incorporated:

  • Potable water reticulation
  • Raw water onsite storage
  • Raw water treatment to a standard compliant with Australian Drinking Water Guidelines
  • Fire hydrant and fire hose reel reticulation services
  • Fire water onsite storage.
