The Position

You will make a difference to our business by providing timely, effective, and user-friendly legal advice on aspects of the NDY Group’s activities.

A key function of this role is the review, drafting and negotiation of NDY’s contractual and other commercial agreements band ensuring that agreed terms are consistent with the Group’s risk profile.

More specifically the role will include:

  • advising senior management on general contractual arrangements, intellectual property matters, contentious matters, insurance and property matters
  • drafting and amending precedents
  • drafting and delivering risk, compliance and general legal training
  • drafting and implementing practice, procedure and governance requirements
  • ensuring contractual compliance with the Group’s risk profile
  • review and reporting on contract terms
  • negotiation of contract, subcontract and other commercial terms; and
  • provision of advice and legal support to the NDY Group in the delivery of its projects.

You will:

  • be admitted to practice as an Australian Legal Practitioner and hold (or be entitled to hold) a current practising certificate
  • have a minimum of three years post admission experience as a commercial lawyer with significant exposure to and expertise in the review and drafting of commercial contracts, preferably in the construction or design industries
  • thrive in a fast-paced environment, navigate ambiguity and engage with and balance the interests and demands of multiple stakeholders
  • have exceptional contract drafting and general writing skills
  • have advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Word
  • have commercial acumen, be capable of working autonomously and exercising professional judgement
  • have excellent oral and written communication skills, being capable of expressing complex concepts and presenting complicated issues clearly, concisely, and succinctly, being capable of being understood by a variety of audiences; and
  • be energetic and proactive and seek and accept feedback constructively.

Training and Development
