The Position

On the back of securing a strong pipeline of work, we are looking for a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer / Senior Mechanical Consultant to join our growing Vancouver team.

As a senior member of our team you can expect to lead the mechanical design (HVAC and plumbing) of various small, medium and large-scale building projects. For the right candidate there is also the opportunity to take on various leadership duties within our office and contribute to our growth and success in the Vancouver market.

From solving difficult coordination problems to working closely with all stakeholders you will have the opportunity to change the shape of the Vancouver skyline and be part of projects that will be around for generations to come.

Who and what we’re looking for:

  • Legally allowed to live and work in Canada
  • P.Eng through EGBC highly desirable
  • 10+ years experience (of which at least 5+ in Canada) in mechanical building services engineering design
  • Established experience in across the full project lifecycle
  • Strong understanding of relevant mechanical engineering (HVAC and plumbing) codes and standards
  • Familiarity with typical industry software including HAP (or similar heat load program), AutoCAD, Revit
  • Ability to independently complete engineering analysis and design of mechanical systems as well as liaise with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders
  • Ability to verify design work completed by others and provide mentoring, coaching, and training to less experienced engineers
  • Experience with field review of mechanical and plumbing installations with the ability to defect work and provide quality inspections on behalf of NDY or the client
  • Strong technical background that you want to continue to build on with experience across different market sectors including residential, office, education and the like
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information of a complex nature both verbally and in writing with all stakeholders across multiple disciplines including colleagues and clients.

  • Team and project leadership experience and ability to manage resources, financial performance, and delivery of multi-discipline projects as a project leader and as the key interface with our clients
  • Strong relationships with local clients and industry partners
  • Proven business development experience and work-winning track record
  • Ability to contribute to the holistic leadership of our Vancouver office.

Compensation – The expected salary range for this role is $100,000 – $160,000. Our salary ranges are determined by job family and level. Salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, education and training, years of relevant experience, and internal equity.
