Brendon is a consultant with NDY’s sustainability team. Previously practicing as a dedicated mechanical building services engineer, Brendon brings a practical perspective to sustainable design, energy efficiency and occupant experience.

With expertise in HVAC design and modelling, facade performance, building physics and condensation management, Brendon can quickly apply advanced principles in high performance building design, whilst maintaining a project specific, innovative and commercial outlook.

Chris is a fire engineer who is keenly focused on developing practical and cost-effective fire safety designs for our clients.

Chris’s projects benefit from his attention to detail and his ability to provide fire engineering designs that enable architectural freedom and allow maximum flexibility for clients.

Joe is a mechanical engineer with diverse experience across Queensland and New South Wales in both engineering and project leading roles.

Joe is committed to tailoring his consulting approach to meet clients’ specific project needs. He has recently been appointed as the interiors market sector leader for Brisbane, where he focuses on delivering innovative solutions that enhance built environments.

Troy is a dynamic design draftsperson and BIM technician in our Brisbane office.

Equipped with a wide-ranging skill set cultivated through years of immersion in the building services industry on multiple continents and cities, Troy has demonstrated his versatility and proficiency in various disciplines, and efficiency in working in team environments.

Patrick is responsible for design and delivery of quality fire services documentation for a variety of building and industrial projects for our clients across Queensland.

For over 10 years of professional experience, Patrick has been applying professional, practical and effective engineering approaches delivering a quality design documentation, for an ease of accurate project tendering and optimisation of the overall engineering services costs.

Canberra

Liza is a user focused mechanical engineer, aiming to deliver design which results in comfortable and functional living and working environments.

Liza is passionate about the role of women in engineering and diversity in the workplace, and because of this she was a member of the NDY Charitable Trust Committee and a representative of the NDY Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group.

London

Recently relocating from Sydney to London, Zoe leads the London sustainability team at NDY. With a demonstrated passion and understanding of how places, buildings and fitouts are designed and then operated, she is able to advise clients and project teams on optimal solutions to meet financial and environmental drivers. She was recently awarded the ‘Green Star Champion 2023’ award from the Green Building Council of Australia, which recognises industry leaders who have made significant contributions toward a more sustainable built environment.

Her main interest and strength lie in sustainability ratings and advisory, as well as people management and collaboration.

Greg is an accredited fire protection engineer, holding a Bachelor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, with experience in MEP design management. Greg is an active FPAA committee member engaging in the formation of guidelines and standards and is committed to advancing fire and life safety outcomes.

Greg has a proven record of bringing together the right stakeholders, technical specialists and delivery partners to mediate holistic solutions on complex multidisciplinary projects. He couples his fire services expertise with skills in people and project management to drive client outcomes.

Michael is an experienced, client-facing, mechanical engineer with experience across a wide range of sectors across all RIBA stages. He has a passion for finding solutions that balance client needs and project constraints while maximising sustainability and energy efficiency.

Michael is a member of the UK Green Building Council Leadership Forum following his graduation from their Future Leaders programme in 2018.

Starting his career as an electrical installer within pharmaceutical giant GSK, Simon has an established reputation in delivering complex projects to the highest of standards.

Simon brings to projects a forward-thinking, in-depth and practical understanding of the built environment and enjoys working within a team environment ensuring that effective solutions are maintained to produce high quality, coordinated designs and installations.

Melbourne

Rafe has been with NDY since 2007, bringing valuable experience in the design and documentation of mechanical services across various markets. In his role as technical manager, he is responsible for ensuring quality assurance in all mechanical projects within the Melbourne office.

With extensive practical experience, Rafe is adept at delivering cost-effective, flexible and functional solutions for mechanical service design. He takes pride in collaborating with his engineering team to ensure that all projects are thoroughly documented and well-coordinated, fully realising the client’s design ambitions.

Victoria joined NDY in 2016 and serves as the acoustics manager in our Melbourne office. She possesses expertise in building services, industrial noise control and environmental noise assessment.

Having worked in both Australia and New Zealand, including experience in our Auckland office, Victoria has gained additional experience in architectural acoustic design for residential, commercial, health and educational buildings, as well as independent acoustic testing, DA / CDC and environmental acoustics with emphasis on construction noise and vibration management plans.

She worked as a full time acoustic engineer in Venezuela from 2007 until her move in 2016.

“This appointment means that everything is possible with passion, excellence and the support of a tight team at work and a loving family at home. Incredibly proud and happy to be a female, mother, Venezuelan, Kiwi and a recognised fervent enthusiast of acoustic engineering.”

Since joining NDY in 2015, Mason has contributed to a diverse range of projects within both the new and existing buildings teams. Mason undertook a secondment to Engineering Commissioning Services (ECS), where he gained extensive experience in commissioning and integrated testing for all building services.

This varied experience has allowed Mason to develop technical skills in mechanical services and gain a holistic understanding of the services scope of a building at all project stages.

Currently, Mason leads the mechanical team in the Melbourne office, overseeing resource allocation and providing technical guidance to emerging engineers.

Fernando joined the NDY vertical transportation team in 2022 and is a qualified lift engineer with many years of experience with global lift manufacturers working across various roles within the lift industry.

Having had firsthand involvement with many lift and escalator installations, modernisations, maintenance and asset renewal projects, has provided Fernando with technical expertise and problem-solving skills to effectively advise clients on the best solution for all their vertical transport projects including, new designs, capital improvements, safety code upgrades, statutory requirements, lift servicing and maintenance planning of existing buildings.

Param joined NDY in 2024 as an experienced civil engineer specialising in building and infrastructure projects, bringing extensive knowledge and experience to the team.

Currently leading our civil team in Melbourne, Param excels at coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders to meet project objectives and has a proven track record in managing budgets and timelines efficiently.

NDYLIGHT

Sharbel’s fascination with light was sparked during his studies at university. Following a 2-year stint as a lighting designer / engineer at a local manufacturer, his passion for lighting grew and in 2018, joined the team at NDYLIGHT.

Sharbel’s experience includes over 8 years as a lighting designer, leading luminaire and architectural lighting design on a range of retail, sports, public, industrial and commercial projects both nationally and internationally.

Perth

Adeel manages the fire protection and hydraulic section for our Perth office.

Adeel also has experience as a mechanical engineer, where he was involved with design of mechanical, fire and hydraulic services. Being involved in multidisciplinary projects has allowed Adeel to develop a good understanding of the importance of coordination among the disciplines.

With over 15+ years of experience within the construction industry in Western Australia from trade to design consultant, Brent is a licenced plumber and gas fitter.

Brent’s professionalism and planning with a strong approach to providing technical support, creativity to hydraulic services design and quality project delivery provides clients and staff with a valued and dependable level of experience.

“I am very humbled and extremely grateful of this appointment, including my other role as technical solutions group leader of hydraulics, which enables me to implement strategic initiatives that will look to benefit NDY as we continually move forward to being the best in the business from a hydraulics perspective.”

Samuel has over 13 years’ experience as a fire safety consultant, working on a diverse range of projects nationally and locally in Western Australia. Before working as a fire safety consultant, he has worked as a building surveyor for local councils where he has completed building inspections and code assessments on local WA projects.

Samuel has experience in evacuation and smoke modelling, detailed risk assessments, fire safety audits and preparation of fire engineering performance-based briefs and reports for a variety of complex projects.

Sydney

Jay is the leader of the interiors and asset performance team within the NDY Sydney office which consists of a multidisciplinary specialist team of engineers with extensive experience in the delivery of commercial and retail fitouts and asset upgrade projects. Jay is also the NSW market sector leader for asset performance, responsible for cultivating business opportunities by developing and maintaining partnerships and managing client relations within the asset performance industry.

As a mechanical engineer Jay’s technical skills involve innovative solutions on HVAC design and various deliverables that involves coordinating multidisciplinary services.

Jay is passionate about the integration of sustainability approach into the mechanical services design field as well as incorporating energy-efficient solutions for all the projects he is involved in.

Sath leads the hydraulic team for NDY’s Sydney office. He sits in the NSW retail market sector team and senior project leadership team for the Sydney office.

As a hydraulic engineer, Sath provides design solutions to meet client requirements, project coordination and consultation with various project stakeholders to ensure quality of the project is maintained and to assist, where possible, to deliver projects on time.

Johann is NDY’s structural lead for the Sydney office, responsible for managing the structural team and all projects in NSW. Johann has over 28 years’ experience in structural engineering design and project management of buildings as well as civil structures.

Johann is a passionate collaborator with a strong belief that with teamwork, all project challenges can be overcome to provide innovative, economical, buildable and sustainable solutions. His dedication and pragmatic approach will ensure the highest-level of quality is delivered by his team.

Nidyal is a highly skilled electrical engineer in our Sydney team.

Nidyal has a solid grasp of building compliance, regulations and safety standards and he has successfully contributed to a diverse array of building services projects.

Justin is an accomplished mechanical engineer and smart buildings consultant with a robust track record of effectively executing building management system (BMS) projects for both new and established buildings.

In his role as a smart building technology consultant, Justin has been instrumental in driving innovation and efficiency. He collaborates closely with clients to understand their unique requirements and develops tailored solutions that optimise building performance and energy management. Vancouver

Working in the Vancouver office as a mechanical engineer, Jamie brings over 16 years of building services design experience across a range of sectors.

Throughout Jamie’s career he has gained experience working on schemes through all project stages from master planning, pre-planning concepts, design development, detailed design and construction support and monitoring. He also has in-depth knowledge using BIM and 3D modelling software to deliver well considered and coordinated designs, and has specific experience of water recycling and efficient domestic hot water production systems to support sustainable building designs.
