To continue their operations, the client had hired a temporary generator. NDY reviewed the proposed equipment and undertook maximum demand calculations to determine the appropriate power supply requirements.

NDY and Tetra Tech then worked with the Electricity Supply Board (ESB) to confirm the supply size and infrastructure required to deliver the power. Surveys of the surrounding landscape were undertaken to locate a new substation and coordinate supply routes with existing underground services.

There were challenges with coordinating the cable route from the new substation due to the volume of existing services underground. Detailed survey information and site reviews enabled our team to find a route with the least amount of disruption to the site.

The client appreciated that NDY and Tetra Tech could provide a “one stop shop”. NDY completed all the engineering design works but also procured the various topography and underground service surveys that were needed.

Once the project is fully implemented, the client will be able to operate their equipment without the need for a generator supply, with reduced cost and more efficient supply of baked goods to retail stores across the country.
