The North Docks Development aims to utilise the latest technologies to enhance user experience and operational effectiveness, achieving SmartScore Platinum in design. Consisting of 2 innovative commercial buildings at 8 levels each, the project will deliver a total of 400,000 ft² of cutting edge smart building space.
NDY built up the conceptual design through multiple stakeholder workshops, before undertaking a gap analysis of the current building design and issuing a technical brief and technology matrix. Our team also managed the SmartScore certification process including all technical submissions and issued detailed specifications for the procurement and implementation of smart building technologies.
NDY delivered full system integrations into a smart building middleware, advanced analytics to detect and pre-empt faults, enhanced facilities management through enhanced data availability and pervasive IoT occupancy and air quality sensing throughout all base build areas.
Data will not only provide insights into actual building usage to better drive plant operation and operational workflows, but also inform the design of future buildings. Sustainability is a major focus, with the building utilising the available technology deployments and data insights to optimise the operation of each system and drive energy efficiencies.
A long term workflow shift will transition operations from scheduled to demand based facilities management to increase efficiencies and ensure all spaces are maintained to the highest standards.
With smart building technology and digital initiatives providing a progressive and innovative commercial offering, increased leasing value is expected alongside an enhanced end user experience at this new development for Kennedy Wilson.
