The North Sydney Leagues Club was keen to provide a modern and vibrant refurbishment to its patrons. NDY was engaged to assist with the design and installation of building services for the partial refurbishment, which covered the entry, dining and bistro areas of approximately 2,000 m² of floor space. This included a new kitchen, bar, café and the associated seating areas.
Through workshops with Abeo Architects, NDY was able to understand the architectural vision in order to provide a functional space that met the brief. This was key to ensuring the design team was working towards a common goal. The most significant challenge was working with the existing services while maintaining operation to the other areas of the club. NDY developed a design that limited interruption to other areas of the club and kept to the project budget.
Whilst Abeo Architects provided the lighting design and luminary selection, NDY’s consulting team confirmed lighting levels, document controls and finalised the design. This collaborative method was completed with success, demonstrated by the flexibility and atmosphere of the refurbished areas.
The completed refurbishment has resulted in a comfortable and visually pleasing area with the flexibility to change the atmosphere for various functions as required.
