Adelaide

Wail is a mechanical engineer whose expertise also spans to hydraulic and fire protection services design.

In addition to the detailed design of systems, Wail has experience in testing and commissioning of building services including troubleshooting during the defects liability period.

Wail’s REVIT modelling experience coupled with his design and site experience, makes him an asset to the NDY team for any project he is involved with.

Auckland

Shay is a hydraulic engineer with over 28 years of experience working on projects in every building category, both in New Zealand and overseas.

Shay joined NDY in 2005 as the hydraulic section head, a role in which he mentored a number of young engineers who have gone on to senior roles within NDY and the wider industry. Shay has more recently transitioned to focus on delivery of major projects for the Auckland office.

Jarrod joined NDY in 2015 in his final year of completing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. In the years since graduation Jarrod has worked as a hydraulic engineer in both NDY’s Auckland and London offices on a wide variety of projects and across sectors including retail centres, schools, aged care facilities, office blocks, apartments, hotels, laboratories, hospitals and data centres.

Jarrod is also the the Hydraulic Section Head for NDY’s Auckland office.

Renée has over 17 years of experience as a project engineer and lead mechanical engineer, directing project teams from conceptual design of commercial and retail developments to successful and timely construction completion.

She has strong project management and leadership experience managing multi-million dollar retail and hospitality projects throughout Canada, the US and New Zealand. Renée also brings experience in both construction management and technical diversity in HVAC, plumbing and drainage and fire protection. She leads the mechanical team for NDY Auckland and has a strong passion for empowering those around her.

Cathy joined NDY in 2015 as BIM Manager. She has extensive experience in Revit modelling and services BIM coordination on a wide range of projects both locally and internationally covering commercial, education, residential and healthcare buildings.

She is also a qualified engineer in the fields of mechanical engineering and information technology, with experience in STEPS modelling for pedestrian movement in stations and IES modelling for ventilation and heating/cooling load calculation.

Michael is a Chartered Professional Engineer with over 40 years’ experience as a fire professional in both operational firefighting and consultancy. He has delivered a wide range of projects including industrial, commercial, institutional, educational, defence and residential developments.

Brisbane

Andrew is a multi-disciplined design draftsman and BIM technician, with extensive experience in the building services industry.

He has experience working in all disciplines on a range of different projects including residential, commercial, industrial, educational, health and tenancy fitouts. Andrew is passionate about using his Revit modelling skills to produce coordinated, clash free models and high quality designs.

Joe is a mechanical engineer with a variety of experience in both engineering and project leading capacities.

With experience across a wide range of project sizes, Joe is passionate about tailoring his consulting value to best suit his client’s needs for each project.

Canberra

Liza is a mechanical engineer with experience across a range of projects including office (new and existing), residential, industrial, retail, health, security and educational facilities in both a technical engineering and project leading capacity.

Liza is passionate about the role of women in engineering and diversity in the workplace, and because of this she was a member of the NDY Charitable Trust Committee and a representative of the NDY Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group.

Dublin

Conor is a highly skilled digital buildings professional with experience in a variety of fields, including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, control systems, security systems and information technology to help his clients exceed their expectations on their projects.

His focus on user experience design ensures that the buildings he works on are efficient, user-focused and able to stand the test of time.

Engineering Commissioning Services

Martin is an experienced electrical engineer with a strong commissioning management, construction engineering and contracting background. He is the lead engineer for ECS’s mission critical sector and oversees all this sector’s commissioning management projects across Asia-Pacific.

Throughout Martin’s career, he has designed and managed projects in various industries, particularly in data centres and including commercial fitouts, health, tunnels, petrochemical and heritage projects. He has also managed various multi-service projects in the capacity of consultant, construction manager, contractor and commissioning manager.

Alex is a skilled and proven commissioning manager, CxA and ICA with expertise in data centres, mission-critical facilities, transport infrastructure projects, laboratories and commercial buildings.

Alex is a logical thinker who shows a clear focus on safety and meticulous attention to details. He has a strong sense of adaptability and flexibility to various situations while ensuring a process-driven approach.

Jake is a commissioning manager with a well-rounded market sector knowledge and experience on a range of greenfield and fitout projects across mission critical, transport, commercial office, secondary education and correctional sectors, with a 5 star hotel thrown in for good measure. Prior to joining Engineering Commissioning Services (ECS), Jake started out in an installation role before moving to NDY as an undergraduate in the Sydney electrical team. In his current role, Jake supports the team with electrical systems commissioning expertise including interstate travel to WA, NT and SA for one of ECS’ key clients.

Ralph is a masters qualified engineer and commissioning manager with experience commissioning projects across the construction and engineering sectors in Australia, the UK and the Middle East.

Ralph has worked with various parties including consultants and systems engineers to produce detailed interface test procedures, integrated test specification procedures, integrated test plans and detailed interface specification between MEP building services to BMS head end and BMS head end to various central monitoring and control systems.

London

Having worked with world leading design and manufacturing organisations, Jonathan is a specialist at delivering major projects in the construction industry. As a creative mechanical engineer he enjoys collaborating with talented designers to aid in realising the vision of an interdisciplinary design team.

“My passion revolves around spearheading major engineering projects with a dedication to sustainable and innovative solutions. The appointment to Associate Director provides the platform for me to execute this to the best of my ability, for the benefit of our people and clients. I’m enthusiastically anticipating an exciting future at NDY.”

Andreas is a Chartered Engineer, BREEAM (New Construction) Assessor and a qualified LEED AP BD+C. He is an experienced energy modeller with an excellent understanding of complex HVAC systems and has successfully undertaken operational energy modelling studies for key projects.

Andreas is a member of the sustainability team in London. He has extensive experience in the sustainable design of new-built, refurbishment and fitout projects across various sectors, including offices, retail, hotels and laboratories in the UK and abroad.

Greg is an accredited fire protection engineer with experience in MEP design management. He’s an active FPAA committee member engaging in the formation of guidelines and standards and is committed to advancing fire and life safety outcomes.

Greg has many years of experience in the fire industry, with prior roles as a maintenance contractor and rectification works contract manager adding to his skills and understanding as an engineer.

Drew is a mechanical engineer and sustainability consultant focused on integrating sustainability principles into every aspect of engineering design. He frequently challenges ‘the norm’ to find current solutions to modern problems by working directly with clients and design teams alike to identify needs and wants. In recent years, Drew has been predominantly focused on in-use building performance and embodied carbon of building services and is now returning to the core engineering team to embed these lessons learnt into design teams.

“It has been an honour working with so many incredible mentors and people who care about the people behind the work. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to my success since joining as a graduate, this appointment was inconceivable to me when I started – I am delighted.”

Alex heads up the asset performance team in NDY’s London office and is responsible for managing existing building projects, including major redevelopments, technical due diligence surveys and a wide range a plant replacement schemes. He has worked in the London office for the past 5 years and grown from project engineer to project leader, team leader and now market sector leader.

With the majority of his experience in the office sector, he enjoys the challenges of working in live buildings, with a key focus on the phasing and logistics of plant replacement.

Elliott is a mechanical and sustainability engineer making his mark in both the Brisbane and London offices with experience on both the client and consultancy sides of the industry.

During his tenure at NDY, Elliott has navigated a diverse array of projects, transitioning between roles in the core mechanical team, the interiors team and most recently, the sustainability team. His portfolio boasts contributions to hospitals, universities, upscale offices, data centres and heritage buildings.

“This appointment is a testament to the support of my incredible team and mentors across the London and Brisbane offices. I’m ready to embrace this opportunity to lead, innovate and drive positive change here in London and abroad.”

Eugene has worked in various roles from design, engineering and system commissioning of multiple mechanical and electrical projects throughout his career, before joining NDY’s London mission critical team in 2022 as a mechanical project engineer.

His experience includes projects onsite and in-office and have involved both engineering and construction practices.

“I am appreciative to NDY for acknowledging my work over the previous two years and giving me the chance to work on interesting and challenging projects. I would like to express my gratitude to the team that I have worked with, who is always there for support when needed.”

Ian is a public health engineer with experience working across the commercial and domestic sectors including work on hotel, restaurant, health, sport, education, residential, data centre, government, retail and defence projects.

His skills as a public health engineer include the design of drainage, hot and cold water services as well as gas services. Ian looks at the most efficient way to serve the buildings at the same time systems that are both cost effective and easily maintained.

“I would like to thank all the team who have worked in defence in the last few years navigating through the many challenges we have experienced and overcome with solid engineering solutions to achieve our goal in delivering great design. Julien is a mechanical engineer with over 15 years’ UK and international experience. He has worked as a HVAC consultant on large commercial fitouts in the UK, with a particular interest in ventilation, DX systems and BMS.

In previous roles, Julien has worked on luxury residential, commercial, leisure, healthcare and light industrial facilities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with responsibilities in the design of HVAC/PH/fire-fighting systems. He’s also been involved on design and build projects and has a background in acoustics.

Melbourne

Richard is an electrical engineer and NDY’s audio visual specialist.
Working in partnership with our clients Richard helps them to define their vision, objectives and strategy for their business using information technology to overcome problems, improve business processes and realise operational efficiencies.

He then works with clients and project partners from strategy and concept design through to procurement and implementation and post-handover support.

Chris is a mechanical engineer and the Melbourne office’s healthcare market sector leader. He has a wealth of expertise in the sector, gained through his involvement in various greenfield and existing healthcare facilities. His extensive background has cultivated a robust analytical and technical skill set, contributing significantly to the success of his healthcare projects.

His healthcare experience encompasses a wide spectrum, from strategic master planning and project feasibility to comprehensive design work, the production of contract documents and even the development of detailed installation workshop and fabrication drawings.

James is a highly motivated civil engineer with over 10 years of professional experience. He is strongly driven by a desire to apply the most appropriate solution and standards to produce quality civil designs that meet clients’ expectations the first time. His career to date has seen James refining his skills in stormwater drainage design and modelling and road network design to relevant standards.

Ben joined NDY in 2022 as senior electrical engineer for the Melbourne mission critical team where he acts a project leader for the design and implementation of data centre projects.

Beyond his electrical role, Ben has experience in solar design and managing multi-discipline projects where he strives to implement a result driven strategy for clients.

He is excited and motivated by the projects presently being undertaken, and an engineer who has a deep seeded passion for people and the world’s new energy future. The creation of more efficient, cleaner and smarter systems that will have real world impacts is what drives him.

Caroline is a mechanical engineer with experience across the mechanical, hydraulics and fire protection engineering disciplines.

She has deep technical skills in hydraulic and fire protection services and a holistic understanding of the entire services scope of a building. These skills have been successfully implemented in projects across several industries including retail, education, sports, office and residential.

Fernando is a qualified lift engineer with over 19 years of experience working with global lift manufacturers. He has held multiple positions and senior roles including across sales, project management and renewals.

Having had first-hand involvement with many lift and escalator installations, modernisations, maintenance and asset renewal projects, Fernando has the technical expertise and problem-solving skills to effectively advise clients on the best solution for all their vertical transport projects including new designs, capital improvements, safety code upgrades, statutory requirements, lift servicing and maintenance planning of existing buildings.

Jessica is an electrical engineer who has taken her passion for holistic sustainable design to help deliver environmentally and socially sustainable buildings as part of NDY’s sustainability team.

Throughout the past few years Jessica has had the opportunity to work across a diverse range of industry sectors, allowing her to gain experience working on office buildings, retail developments, sports and entertainment centres, residential buildings and hotels. She understands the importance of achieving sustainable outcomes for all stakeholders on her projects.

Ruairi is a mechanical engineer who specialises in interiors design solutions in the commercial office and retail sectors.

Andrew is a mechanical engineer who has worked in NDY’s offices in Perth and Canberra.

He has a wide range of experience across project sectors, from small retail fitout projects to large commercial base building towers. Other areas of experience include commercial office fitouts, laboratories, health care and residential.

Steve is an electrical and security engineer who is focused on delivering design that meets our clients’ expectations on cost, quality and timescale. He’s focused on delivering long term value for our clients through sustainable, safe solutions which reduce the operating cost of their assets.

With a passion for efficient design and quality of service, Steve encourages collaboration and continuous improvement to deliver a positive client experience.

Max is a qualified mechanical and audio engineer who leads the acoustics section of our Perth office.

Coming from a background in music, audio and engineering, Max is passionate about pushing the boundaries of innovative acoustic design by combining a variety of views from a creative, functional and technical perspective in order to best serve his clients needs.

As part of his role, Max has been involved in many aspects of acoustic services design, including architectural building acoustics, HVAC noise assessment, 3D noise modelling, construction noise assessment and vibration analysis.

Sydney

Peter is a mechanical engineer and NDY’s Global Retail Market Sector Leader who also sits on the Executive Committee for NDY’s Sydney office. In addition to his retail work, he has worked on a wide range of workspace, education, residential and commercial projects. Peter is very keen on getting involved with the detail of projects and sees this as vital to ensure his high standards are maintained in project delivery.

Jay is a multi-disciplinary project leader and mechanical engineer with experience in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Middle East.

He is the leader of the interiors and asset performance team within the NDY Sydney office, which consists of a multi-disciplinary specialist team of engineers with extensive experience in the delivery of commercial and retail fitouts and asset upgrade projects. Jay is also the NSW market sector leader for asset performance, responsible for cultivating business opportunities by developing and maintaining partnerships and managing client relations within the asset performance industry.

Joshua is a fire engineer with experience across the retail, transport, commercial and defence sectors. He currently leads NDY’s NSW fire engineering team.

Joshua is passionate about providing practical and efficient solutions to simplify design, installation and management of buildings.

Rhys joined NDY in 2022 and is the mission critical market sector lead for New South Wales in addition to heading up NDY’s Sydney office mechanical team. Rhys is driven to facilitating client ambitions through holistic and innovative design solutions.

Zoe leads the Sydney sustainability team at NDY. With a demonstrated passion and understanding of how places, buildings and fitouts are designed and then operated, she is able to advise clients and project teams on optimal solutions to meet financial and environmental drivers. She was recently awarded the ‘Green Star Champion 2023’ award from the GBCA, which recognises industry leaders who have made significant contributions toward a more sustainable built environment.

John is an electrical engineer with over 13 years of experience in engineering, design and construction.

His expertise covers electrical systems design and execution, project planning, management, site supervision, troubleshooting, testing and commissioning. John has worked on various small to large scale projects in Australia and the Middle East.

Shaun has worked as a lead electrical designer, as well as project lead for many of his projects. This has given him an opportunity to provide our clients with tailored design solutions to suit their projects.

Wellington

Duncan is a mechanical engineer and a highly respected member of the Wellington office with 30 years’ experience at NDY. He is passionate about creating new spaces that enhance the wellbeing and productivity of the community and which clients will enjoy.

Duncan is also the mechanical technical manager for our Wellington office. He has strengths in the design, specification and observation of HVAC systems and general expertise of other building services systems and building technology overall, all of which he uses to provide valuable guidance to project teams.

Nadine is a mechanical engineer with additional expertise in hydraulic and fire protection design.

Nadine’s experience spans from manufacturing plant upgrades to multi storey apartment complexes, building refurbishments and tenancy fitouts in both the UK and New Zealand.

Nadine also leads the Wellington office’s tenancy team.
