This project is a refurbishment and upgrade of a large proportion of the Mercy Hospital site, delivered in multiple phases in order to keep the building fully operational throughout the construction phase of each new project.
NDY worked closely with the site maintenance team and user groups to understand their requirements and minimise the impact of the redevelopment projects to the ongoing operation of the facility.
NDY delivered the site master planning stage, the upgrade of the CSSD, and the Marinoto Clinic project. Our team also provided design input for the new steam boiler plant associated with the CSSD upgrade, as well as all the associated medical gases for the CSSD and other departments as part of the site remodelling.
Our master planning exercise also included a review of the site infrastructure looking at sustainable fuel sources for both heating and cooling, including wood chip boilers and open loop borehole cooling options.
On each of these projects NDY has partnered with local consultants in Dunedin to provide some aspects of the design work, working with MacLeod and Associates as the electrical engineers on the CSSD and Marinoto Clinics and with MSS to provide site phase duties on the CSSD project.
