Aviva Gunzburg, a Senior Lighting Designer with NDY subsidiary, NDYLIGHT, recently presented on Lighting Design for Healthcare at the Light Space Design Summit 2020. During her presentation she discussed the benefits of blending daylight and other lighting methods in healthcare settings to deliver improvements to patient recovery and potential increases in alertness and reduction in accidents for shift pattern healthcare workers. With a background in industrial design, Aviva has developed her technical and spatial skills in the building services environment. Working as a multi-discipline design drafter for several years helped her develop a solid understanding about how buildings work and services are coordinated. Aviva is passionate about lighting design and believes that a well-designed lighting scheme will enhance architecture, provide energy efficiency and improve end user experience.
Using her technical knowledge and collaborating with the designer, Aviva creates environments where light is key but light fittings are not. Through NDYLIGHT, she guides lighting design, producing conceptual designs and presentations. Aviva then develops a holistic design and control solution that complies with relevant codes whilst maintaining aesthetic intent. Her lighting experience is broad, and she has diverse experience including health, commercial, hospitality, retail and domestic lighting as well as landscape and area lighting.
