Auckland

Jarrod joined NDY in 2015 in his final year of completing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. In the years since graduation Jarrod has worked as a hydraulic engineer in both NDY’s Auckland and London offices on a wide variety of projects and across sectors including retail centres, schools, aged care facilities, office blocks, apartments, hotels, laboratories, hospitals and data centres.

Jarrod was appointed to the Auckland Office Director role in 2024.

Pedro joined NDY in 2022 as our New Zealand Structural Leader based in the Auckland office. He is responsible for the management, technical leadership, training and development of NDY’s structural engineering team in New Zealand.

Pedro has a solid technical background in structural and geotechnical engineering with a specialisation in earthquake engineering.

“Becoming a director aligns with my long-term ambition to contribute more significantly to NDY, influencing decisions that shape our strategic direction and foster a culture of innovation and accountability. I am looking forward to continuing to support our emerging engineers and leaders and build a work environment that supports both professional growth and personal fulfillment.”

Joshua joined NDY in 2014 as an undergraduate within the electrical team in Auckland and has been involved in the design/documentation of large multi-disciplinary projects and smaller fitout projects. Upon completing his studies Joshua joined the tenancy team to further develop his engineering skills.

Since 2021, Joshua has honed his project management skills leading multi-disciplinary projects while also heading up initiatives that capture technologies within the office.

Joshua is passionate about not only providing solutions that perform but also those that benefit the occupant and building owner.

Brisbane

Frazer leads NDY’s global fire engineering group, and brings national and international experience from major projects across a wide range of sectors. Frazer thrives on leading fire engineering teams in the delivery of world class projects.
Frazer has developed fire strategies for some of Australia’s most prestigious buildings and precincts within large scale assembly, retail, commercial, educational, health, correctional and industrial sectors since 2011. Prior to this, Frazer worked in the United Kingdom on landmark projects including the London Olympic Games. Frazer also brings client-side experience from a range of advisory and peer review roles.

Frazer strives to meet the needs of clients, architects, and patrons, whilst ensuring that designs meet appropriate safety levels. This is enabled through the application of fire science, human behaviour and evacuation analysis, an understanding of prescriptive code requirements, and knowledge of international best practice.

Hansika is the team lead of NDY’s fire protection services team and the industrial market sector lead for our Brisbane office. With over 18 years of experience, she has established herself as a leader in fire protection engineering for diverse projects across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Sri Lanka.

Hansika possesses a comprehensive understanding of building services across design and installation having worked as both a subcontractor and a consultant. Her leadership skills and technical expertise make her a valuable asset to the team.

Sarah is a mechanical engineer with experience across the civic, health, retail and residential sectors.

Sarah prides herself on delivering innovative, quality solutions that meet and exceed both industry best practice standard and her client’s expectations.

She is passionate about working closely with key stakeholders and enjoys participating actively as a part of the wider project team.

Engineering Commissioning Services

Michael is a commissioning manager with over 15 years of experience in commercial mechanical commissioning. He spent two of those years solely performing commissioning duties at Intel’s micro chip manufacturing clean room fabs. Michael has also performed commissioning duties on a wide range of building types, from industrial to hospitals, labs, schools, office buildings and more.

“I am honored to be appointed as associate, it means to me that the team sees me as an integral part of the success of ECS. I take pride in knowing that the team trust me enough to rely on me for key responsibilities. I also want to thank the entire ECS team for always working together and supporting each other.”

David is a highly qualified senior services manager, senior project manager and senior project engineer with more than 29 years of progressive experience in commissioning, project management and engineering related tasks serving major projects throughout various market sectors.

His engineering knowledge focuses on numerous services such as fire, hydraulics, electrical systems, medical and laboratory infrastructure and vertical transport with a special interest in mechanical systems.

London

Steve joined the NDY London mechanical team in 2020, having previously worked in South Africa on a large range of projects including in the commercial offices, residential and retail sectors.

He has experience in managing all aspects of the project lifecycle in the commercial sector as well as experience in hospitals, retail and conference type buildings.

Matt joined the existing buildings team at NDY in 2017, specialising in building refurbishments, plant upgrades and optimisation. He is also the retail and transport sector leader for NDY in London.

He is particularly interested in the electrification of existing buildings and net zero carbon refurbishments.

Matt has experience in the whole project life cycle across a range of market sectors including commercial, retail, transport, mixed-use, hotels, residential and performing arts.

Tom is a highly motivated smart buildings engineer with experience in the design and delivery of digitally innovative projects. He aims to work closely with clients to understand their aspirations and ultimately improve end-user experiences through well considered and user-centric digital solutions.

Tom has proven smart building experience leading the delivery of multiple projects across Canada, the USA, Australia, the UK and Europe; working with international and cross discipline teams to realise each client’s digital vision. Having worked across a range of sectors, he is able to work seamlessly with the wider design team, while understanding the complexities that can occur to ensure the efficient delivery of projects.

Jonathan is an accomplished structural engineer with ten years of experience delivering major construction projects worldwide. His career has been shaped by collaborations with top-tier design and construction organisations, where he has honed his skills in creating high-quality, innovative and sustainable engineering solutions. Jonathan thrives in interdisciplinary environments, partnering with internal and external designers to turn visionary ideas into a reality.

Robert is an electrical engineer with extensive experience in electrical infrastructure, lighting design, fire detection and security, for a variety of commercial, education, residential, transport, healthcare and defence projects.

Having worked with both small and medium consultancies, Rob is a well-rounded engineer encompassing many skills usually attributed to multiple positions found within larger companies.

Melbourne

As an experienced project leader and mechanical engineer, Genevieve successfully manages a multi-disciplinary team of NDY engineers to deliver a coordinated and integrated services design that aligns with project aspirations.

She has served as the lead mechanical engineer on numerous landmark projects, guiding them from the masterplanning and feasibility stage through to final completion. This experience has provided her with a strong understanding of how early design decisions influence the overall success of a project. Genevieve possesses extensive experience in delivering mechanical services solutions for both new and refurbished buildings across various sectors, including retail, education, health, commercial, residential and sports and entertainment.

Tze is a fire protection engineer with design experience across a wide range of projects, including high-rise buildings, commercial spaces, government facilities, educational institutions, healthcare environments and defence projects, as well as residential and retail developments.

Currently, she leads the Melbourne fire protection team, overseeing resource allocation and providing technical guidance to junior engineers.

Tze is responsible for all project phases, from initial design and documentation through to drafting, project management and contract administration. She has also enhanced her skills and expertise in fire protection services design, project management and software tools such as 3D CAD, Revit and Navisworks.

Ehsan is a fire safety engineer who specialises in design and documentation of all fire safety matters, development of performance solutions, evacuation, fire and smoke modellings, risk assessment, fire safety audit and inspections.

Ehsan works with stakeholders to achieve their desired outcome. He provides innovative approaches to implement both client concepts and optimised solutions with respect to performance requirements, time and cost.

He has 10 years research and development and project management experience with high profile government funded projects at leading Australian universities. During this time, he developed key relevant expertise in analytical and finite element modelling, heat transfer analysis, coupled thermo-mechanical analysis (structural fire engineering), thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.

Sagar is a hydraulics engineer and the Hydraulics Section Manager in our Melbourne office.

Sagar’s career began as a plumbing products test engineer, where he developed a strong foundation in technical analysis and problem-solving. He has since built a reputation for his ability to investigate complex design challenges and deliver effective outcomes, enhancing project value for clients across various sectors.

In his role, Sagar leverages his technical proficiency to develop innovative hydraulic solutions that ensure projects are executed on time and within budget while complying with strict regulatory standards.

Addison is a fire safety engineer focused on developing comprehensive fire safety strategies and performance-based solutions across a variety of building types, including healthcare, retail, commercial office and residential projects. He currently leads the fire engineering team in the Melbourne office, where he manages resource allocation and provides technical guidance to junior engineers.

Addison oversees all phases of project delivery, from the initial concept and design through to documentation and construction, ensuring that fire safety solutions align with project goals and comply with regulatory requirements.

Perth

Carl is a highly skilled and experienced chartered mechanical engineer with over 25 years of experience within the retail, data, resources, health, oil and gas, commercial and industrial sectors. His drivers for success are his attention to detail, project management skills, safety and efficiency in delivering results to the highest standards.

Sydney

Brendan is a registered vertical transportation design practitioner responsible for design, documentation and monitoring construction quality of vertical transportation systems including passenger and goods lifts, escalators and moving walks.

A wealth of experience gained in the industry from a wide range of projects within various sectors such as defence, education, transport, commercial, residential, retail, health, government and community has provided Brendan with the knowledge and skills to undertake complex vertical transportation designs.

His complimentary skill sets include building design through lift traffic analysis, system interfacing and integration, with a practical approach to installations for new projects and modernisation of existing buildings. Brendan also provides clients additional value through management capability of service and maintenance for existing building vertical transport capital equipment.

Elzine is a sustainability consultant with expertise in shaping the design of intricate passive systems to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in construction projects.

She specialises in employing parametric analysis to offer invaluable insights into high-performance building facades. Her proficiency in cutting-edge modelling techniques allows her to provide early-stage design consultation.

In addition to her design contributions, Elzine plays a pivotal role in her project teams, often serving as the Green Star Accredited Energy Modeller (AEM). With a global career that spans New Zealand, the United States, Dubai, the UK and Australia, her global position brings a wealth of international experience to her work.

Elzine is at the forefront of the industry, pioneering the innovative approach of Building Performance Sketching, while also serving in diverse consulting roles. Her expertise encompasses various building types, from conducting solar radiation studies for high-rise skyscraper facades to devising natural ventilation and daylight implementation strategies for libraries. She has also excelled in optimising thermal comfort, minimising glare and enhancing visual comfort in airport designs, as well as contributing to energy efficiency and carbon emission reduction efforts in defence projects.

Shrinivas is an electrical engineer who has been involved in the design of electrical services for numerous infrastructure projects.

Shrinivas’ drive for exemplary engineering and continual commitment to excellence accompanies his attention to detail, communication, work ethic, collaboration and organisational skills, which make him a valuable member of the electrical services team.

Vancouver

Nathaniel is sustainability and energy lead for the Vancouver office.

With a diverse skill set and a background in physics, Nathaniel uses his analytical abilities to find elegant solutions to complex problems. He has a range of experience in advanced simulation techniques, including thermal energy modelling, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling and internal environment assessments for glare, daylight and thermal comfort, as well as a breadth of experience consulting for recognised green rating systems, such as LEED, WELL and Net Zero Carbon.

Nathaniel is passionate about using data driven design to help achieve sustainable solutions for the built environment.

“I’m honored to be appointed as Associate Director at NDY, having started my journey with the company as an intern in 2016 in Sydney and now working with our talented team and valued clients here in Vancouver. I look forward to supporting our team and contributing to the growth and success of our Vancouver office, delivering the highest level of service and innovation for our clients.”

Glen is a mechanical designer at NDY in Vancouver. Educated with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering he has extensive experience in mechanical design for commercial and residential projects up to the value of $255 m across Canada, the UK and Ireland.

Working with a variety of people on projects across several market sectors has given Glen a breadth of knowledge which allows him to adapt to new projects quickly.

Wellington

Andrew has been with NDY since 2008 after graduating from Victoria University of Wellington with a Masters of Building Science. His passion lies with leading the engineering and operations pillar and the electrical team in Wellington, lighting modelling and building simulation analysis, as well as having a keen interest in environmental science. He loves seeing his design concepts come to life and takes great pleasure in watching our sustainable, innovative and well-engineered design solutions take physical form in the built environment.

He has design experience in electrical infrastructure, small power, data, AV, security systems, lighting design, generator and UPS systems. As both a section manager and executive he is heavily involved with the graduate and intermediate electrical engineers and works with them to integrate our engineering tools with Revit to streamline our design calculations and documentation processes.
