Juniper Networks Australia’s commercial fitout was completed in 2011. The fitout occupies 1,600 macross two levels and accommodates approximately 120 staff in an open plan environment. The fitout is supplemented by boardroom/conference room facilities, training facilities, meeting rooms and a breakout space on each level. The fitout also houses  Juniper’s largest Information Technology (IT) lab in Australia.

NDY was commissioned by Project Solutions Group to provide engineering consulting services for the design, documentation and construction quality services to facilitate the fitout.

In NDY’s role as base building services consultant for 60 Miller Street, North  Sydney, previous experience and knowledge of the buildings operation and challenges were utilised to assist with the design development, and base  building including authority approvals to ensure a smooth construction process.

NDY’s involvement in base building service upgrades and ongoing defects inspections/commissioning during the construction phase, further assisted  in the successful completion of this project. One of the key features of the project was the design and implementation of the IT and lab room.

The IT and lab room consist of Juniper’s IT racks and critical data equipment that are used to configure their customers networking needs and IT equipment. The high heat load density and critical application required a  reliable and faultess design. NDY’s previous experience in major data centre  designs facilitated a solution that was both practical, cost effective and reliable for Juniper’s applications.

The lab room was designed with the use of customised Computer Room  Air Conditioning (CRAC) units that operate 24/7 to maintain conditions within the lab and IT room. This design enables the various teams within  Juniper to maintain operation of their customer’s critical equipment and therefore continue to offer consistent and ongoing customer satisfaction.
