Converting the former Midlands Bank building into a luxury hotel was a daunting task, particularly as the building had been empty for a decade. The Ned is a five star hotel over 13 storeys and includes 250 guest rooms and six Grade I listed meeting/conference rooms. The building is accessed via an imposing ground floor in which the hotels reception is nestled amongst numerous different restaurant offerings and bar facilities which are available to hotel guests and the public alike.
NDY was involved from feasibility stage all the way through to completion and provided a comprehensive consulting service for all principal aspects of the building services designs. The servicing strategies and solutions required careful planning of plant areas and service distribution routes to minimise intervention works and impact upon the Grade 1 listed heritage features of the building.
The end result is a 1920s inspired setting supported by discrete and complimentary building services solutions delivering a 21st Century experience of comfort and communication connectivity.

Providing a sound plan for integrating modern services into a heritage listed building required careful planning but the results are nothing short of spectacular.
